What are we doing and Why?

So, thoughts today... I started thinking about people and how much humanity is in need of Jesus.  Some people are walking around today oblivious to their need for a savior.  It was during this thought that I also began considering my contribution to the Kingdom of Jesus.  Here is a rhetorical question: What are we doing? or What are we not doing? As God's creation, we rely solely on the power and gift of the Holy Spirit.  But it is befuddling to me how there can be so much access to the Holy Bible and the world be in such chaos and confusion.  There are countless numbers of pastors in the United States who unapologetically share the gospel of Jesus with their congregations and on the internet every Sunday and Wednesday, brothers and sisters in Christ, who take time out to teach people and pray with people on the internet.  I don't believe it is anything we are or are not doing, I think it is just how things are going to be going forward. Maybe we have become numb to the message of the cross, but what we can do is continue to pray.  Pray for God's mercy on those that openly rebel against his word.  Pray that Christians who are openly living in sin would repent. Pray for those that are lost, that the scales would fall from their eyes.  Pray for our leaders in government at the federal and local levels that they would rely on the wisdom of God and not human wisdom.  Pray for the leaders at your job, that they would stand up and not make decisions based on fear of what other human beings may or may not do. There is not one word that I can say or write that would cause people to change and follow Jesus.  Jesus has already spoken all the words that His creation needs to be saved.  I just want to stand out and up with my other brothers and sisters who are already trying to be the hands, feet, and mouthpiece for Jesus.  The video below is one that I have been trying for a few weeks to get away from doing, but it wouldn't let me go.  It is about having a worldwide prayer meeting on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 7:00 pm IDT.  A prayer meeting with God, where all His children, regardless of their denomination,  around the world lift their voices to Him and cry out all in one accord.  This Christian life is too hard to live solo, we have to have each other as we go to battle every day.  I pray that you will join me and my family on July 2nd at 7:00 pm IDT.  I pray that you will share this with others and that this appointed time will make it all the way around the world to every country, county, city, town, and village.

In case you are wondering, IDT is Israel Daylight Time.  So, 7 pm would be 11 am where I am from in Birmingham, AL.  If you plan on praying with me and my family, please leave your location in the comments below.

One Second, WAIT!

One second.  It is nuts when you think about all the things that can happen in one second.  According to a google search and the site: bedtimemath.org  "With each second that ticks by, around the world 4 babies are born, 2 people die, Earth travels 18 1/2 miles through space, and the International Space Station travels 5 miles around us. In that same second, an unbelievable 20,000 cans of Coca-Cola are sold, along with 9 iPhones. 4 thousand stars are born across the universe." Seconds could mean the end of a relationship or it could mean a new life for someone.  When you are finished reading this, there will not be any final resolution, but what I hope to accomplish with this writing, is that you will think about your actions and your words.  I admit that I rank at the top of those people that fly off the handle or get my feelings hurt way too easily.  My shortfalls in the area of grace towards others are a simple matter of spiritual maturity and keeping my...

Beautiful Things

Wow, I can't believe how much time has passed since I last posted. So many things have happened. My kids are growing up, and sadly, we’ve lost some family members who have gone to be with Jesus. The first three months of this year have been filled to the brim, and then it happened... I heard a song that made me stop and reflect (you probably already know where this is going, haha!). I felt compelled to share it with the world. I first heard this song about a week ago while my family and I were in the van, and I loved it so much that I added it to my "favorites" playlist. I hadn’t listened to it once since then, until today. After a doctor’s appointment, I went back to work and decided to play it again. It's been on repeat since 9:20 this morning. The song is "Beautiful Things" by Benson Boone. Normally, I would paste the lyrics here, but this time, you'll have to look them up for yourself. The heart of the song is this guy pleading with God not to take t...

Finished? Nope, Not Yet!

I wanted to write today, but really, there is nothing particular in my heart.  The way my blog ideas work is I may remember, hear, see, or do something that triggers a scripture or bible story.  When that happens, I start writing.  That is one reason why it is so important to read your bible and have God's word stored up in your heart because you never know when the Holy Spirit will use what you have read to bless influence or both.   I am grateful and blessed that I have the desire to write.  That is funny and those that know me well would laugh along with me.  My only regret is that I put on such an act during the college years of my disdain for writing or being forced to write, that I avoided writing totally.   My sons and I finished a grand project today.  This project could have been finished by a professional ...
